Questionable 1/4 mile times??????????
First of all I luv HONDA'S
In fact i have a turbo ls civic..(10.90 @140.) lots and lots of boost.
My question is about all of these times people are posting...
The times are vastly diffrent in basically the same setups.....
I can't understand how some people say the have a 5 gen hatchback all motor gutted
with a b18c with i/h/e/ slicks and maybe cams, cam gears and run low 14sec to mid 15sec
Then some people with just about the same setup run mid to low 12's
to mid 13sec
Now I have personally seen about 4 hybrids with b16 and gsr's and run low 15 sec.
In fact I know somebody with a 5 gen gutted every possible bolt on with a b16a and he ran 15.00 flat this kid pop the hood and showed me all the bolts on..
Now even if this kid could drive a little bit I would think he would at least get a 14sec...
How is it possible to run 2 to 3 sec diffrence in almost the same setups...
??????????????

Driving. Plain and simple... Take this example in my area. Somebody here has a car that they have driven to 10.6 well, his friend (still a very experienced driver) hopped in right after his 10.6 run he pulled a 12. something might have been an 11. something but either way you see my point... Thats the hardest thing to do in drag racing is actually learn how to race... That's what I'm in the process of doing now...
Hope this helps.

I've got a real JDM EF8 CRX & I've done a 15.33 @ 92mph in the wet with I/H/E + chip on 17" street rims! I'm over in the UK (hence the wet 1/4's) & I see the times some ppl post & think what am I doing wrong? Tho I'm yet to run in the dry as I've only been to the strip twice, soon we shall see what kinda times I can do in the dry (& not break anything too i hope!)

Wayy back in the day, a few of my friends that ran 88-91 civic hb's were running low 14sec times on the stock si motor (before hybrids came in) with bolt ons and DIY head porting. Alot of it has to do with driving and wieght reduction.

Tuning + Setup + Driver = ET While many people may have the same parts the degree in to which they actually tune their motors (if they have even been to a dyno) will vary as will their times.
Just because you have big cams or a big turbo doesnt mean youll run a decent ET....nothing is guaranteed, thats why we race.
