Default Has anyone ever messed with the new DFI Gen 7??

If so, where on this thing do I go to adjust fuel. I'm reading through and looking through the "fuel" parameters, yet I don't know which graph to adjust. I was looking for a graph that stated "rpm" and "engine load". Am I looking for the right graph???

The main fuel table is probably going to be rpm vs. map value. Perhaps Mike or Earl can help you out, i think they used the old DFI on their racecar.

You will be looking for a map called Base Volumetric Efficiency

X axis - Scaled Engine Speed RPM
Y axis- Map Psi

You can get to the fuel map by hitting F2.

It will follow automatically and tell you what area of the map you are at.
Autocal isnt auto tune. You can SORT OF auto tune with dfi but you have to set up the Target Air Fuel Ratio map AND get a wide band o2 from Accel. It's not called Autotune, it's called Self correction. This isn't really accurate because it will only change the fuel very little. I wouldn't trust my motor with the self corrections option on. DFI isn't the easiest thing in the world to tune, so if you have no experience tuning, BE CAREFUL.

Yeah I guess your right. The car runs fine although in high rpm's it's lean. My tuner said he street tuned it to drive around with an AFR of 12 something. But i'm tempted I guess to see how it is in higher rpms. I'll wait till we hit the dyno.
Do you have a wideband from Accell?
Also, what is AutoCal?

Also on the Base Volumetric Effieciency table, the highest rpm it shows is 6200 rpm. Why????

Autotune isn't really auto tune. It is, but it doesn't really work. My suggestion to you is NOT to use it.

6200 rpm is default, it doesn't really matter because the comp will compensate for it.

See if there is a global or general parameters setting, that should allow you to set your revlimiter and define how many cells you can change.

You might want to scrap that Gen 7 and try a real stand alone, AEM EMS

Oh yeah.............then why did you get rid of yours!!!!!!!!
Man it's like night and day with the DFI compared to AEM. MY CAR FINALLY IDLES, and doesn't surge what so ever. We still need to dyno tune it though. Let me know when you come back in town!
David.

Also Turbo si I wouldnt change anything if you don't know what you are doing. You might actually do more harm then good.

The 6200 on the fuel map isnt a rev limiter or anythign like that. It's just a psudo value.

We'll if you come back in time, not this Saturday but next Saturday, I plan on having my car tuned at RSI which is nest door to Pasal's new shop. Lawrence is going to tune my civic ( Accell Gen 7), my cousins 351 Mustang (Old DFI), and my brothers Prelude (AEM), all in the same day. Maybe you can be the fourth. Just break it in on the dyno !!!!

THANK'S.......I am really happy with the way it runs. We still need to install an IAC though. The one that came in the box wouldn't fit or something. I just bought a new Hewlett Packard laptop that cost me just as much as your MoTec. Man this whole car thing is "pathetic"! I still need a limited slip....Hook that up for me Dandee!!!!
I hope you two come soon enough to see Lawrence tune my car. Oh and I still need a boost controller....Damit!
