Default HELP Heater problems!

Here is the situation, I was getting just cold air when i turn on my heater! I check my coolant and it was fine, so i thought i was my thermostat! Well I change that last night, and put a new thermostat in! I put new anitfreeze in this morning with 50% anitfreeze and 50% water! I'm still getting cold air coming from my heater! Could something else be wrong? My temputure gauge is at half way! Did i mix the wrong amt. of antifreeze vs. water? If any one can help it would be great!!!!

Do you get only cold air, even after you run your car for a long time?

Maybe your thermostat is defective... open all the time.

touch the heater lines that go into the firewall. Also check the water valve at the firewall. See if moving the slider opens the valve. You might have a broken cable.

I check the heater lines, should they be warm? I notice that the lower radiator hose, the one that is attach to where the thermostat is, where the ECT switch is at is not warm! Shouldn't that hose be at least warm for the thermostat to kick in?

Your switch could be broken too. When you switch the climate control from cold to hot, there is a wire in the back that pull back and forth. Check that. You can access this under the passenger side.

I want to know the answer to this problem. I can't think of why it shouldn't be working after just a coolant change.

could someone check their R and turn on their heater and see if both radiator hoses, the top and bottom one gets warm are not! I'm having the top one get warm/hot, and the bottom one is cool or cold, i just think that both hose should be warm not just the top one!

Common sense tells me that the lower one needs to be warm or hot in order for the thermostat to kick in, unless i have a defective thermostat witch I just change to an OEM one!

Ok, I finally got my heater to work ! I went to start the car again with my radiator cap off, with my heater on full blast! I guess it start to work, so i shut my engine off, and put the radiator cap back on and went for a test drive! I'm thinking that I didn't bleed my coolant right, and that their were so many air bubbles in my radiator that it took a long time for my thermostat to kick in! Well all and all, my thermostat that i put in works and my heater works! Thanks to all the people that gave advice!!!!!!!!!
