i almost blew up.
so...i did something very interesting today. I was messing with my cat and exhaust system today and while under my car i hear a hissing sound. so i wondering to myself what it is and i look around my engine bay. i thought everything looked just fine and was about to get back under the car but then something caught my eye. it turned out to be one of my injectors spewing gas like no tomorrow. After seeing that everything fell in place. it explains why for the last 2 weeks i've only gotten 150 miles per tank. so after thinking about i called my shop and had it fixed right away in fear of igniting the gas. Lucky me. after all that i love my turbo setup even more.
It was his FMU I bet. Broke the seal on the injector. That's why everyone that's already done that route avoids it. FMU's aren't reliable, nor are they real fuel management. Do the "hack" with some DSM, or go with a standalone.

Please...spread me the joy of correct informations....for one time sake

Please fill me in on how the FMU broke the seals on the injectors ? I am really really curious.....how you ended up with this THEORY ....

:shrugs:
hmm, even at 120psi ish fuel pressure, which is average on 7-8psi on 12:1 disk with stock injectors, it will not be enough to damage the injectors....
it's unfair to blame the FMU right off the bat, unless "one of us
" never even seen an FMU, only what they read on the internet...
don't believe the hype, it's a 70's technology by bell engineering, still working up until today...it's not the best, but the best way to learn...

FMU's are a little older than that try late '50's with General Electric. Different design original concept. Bell labs just shrunk it down in the '70's, and then they used it in F1 and Kart. Now Vortech made it even smaller so we could use them on cars.
I've watched FMU's blow off fuel lines that's not very safe if you ask me. Not a way to learn if there are better ways, but I forgot you support old technology that's been replaced already.
Why must some people be like this? I don't understand you are you just angry at everything that's not what you approve of? Welcome to reality other people have differing opinions and differing ways of doing things.

I'm betting that someone was fooling with their injectors and forgot to lubricate the o-rings before shoving the fuel rail back on... and tore the edge of the o-ring.
Don't ask me how I know this.

haha. someone obviously didn't read, but yea. i just have the greddy 310cc inectors with the blue box. you think having a blue box made for a GSR on my LS really matters all that much? i'm going to try and get a s-afc asap. if anyone knows where to get them really cheap, pass that info along this way
oh yea...
for the people who has had experience with both afc hack and standalone:
does it really differ all that much if i'm just running a street setup?

At least your fuel return line didn't come loose while you were on the interstate doing 80mph. Isn't the fuel return right above the alternator? Ummmm yeah.
yeah.....there was a guy in my area that had that problem and burned up the entire engine bay of his car!!!
now when ever we want to play a joke on some one at the shop, we call them and say that happened while the car was on a test drive! hehe you should see the faces of some people when they come in and see it was all a joke!
then they
I agree if he was using an FMU it could have been the culprit. I lost a fpr at 28 psi once so i know what high fuel pressure can do. I had fuel in my boost gauge and everything.

At least with the hack I can actually tune the car on a dyno and did, granted I will be going hondata sometime this year, afc hack is very reliable and effective in my opinion.

I guess dsms don't fit right, cause my rc 440's fit like a glove, no problems or muscle needed whatsoever, almost oem feel. I guess you get what you pay for
same here. The dsms plug into the intake manifold and clip into my stock wiring harness without any problem.
