best supercharger cam profile
what would be ideal types of cams for a supercharged B series vtec? basically, would one look for long duration low lift intake cam and a medium lift shorter duration exhaust cam and then use cam gears to dial in the overlap (minimal i would think) etc? basic profiling for blower cams is what i am looking for. anyone have ideas?
would be for 'standard' compression. 'stock' boost'. again, this is not looking for a specific set of cams, just genreal guidelines as listed in the original post. is my thinking on this correct that a blown engine will do better with a general cam type? again, we are talking generically here.
You would generally want the exhaust cam to be bigger on supercharger applications. Higher lift same duration would be ideal. Tune out all but a very little duration. Like aroun 6-7 degrees. Best way to find out the exact setting would be DYNO, but if you want good clean burns with a stock head leave a little overlap.
i've always read on hostboard (all the JRSC gurus) that the best is the GSR cams for one reason or another (it probably fits the description mentioned above?)
Integra Type R exhaust cam and stock intake cam. Set of cam gears, leave the intake cam gear at 0 and retard the exhaust cam gear to -2 to -3 degrees. If it's a GSR then you might see an increase of 10 WHP.
