Error code 8: Faulty dist. misfire. Any replacement for OEM?
Error code 8 appeared today. I got it checked out and sure enough, it's my distributor box causing misfiring in cylinder #1. I was not surprised since I was starting to suspect I was running on 3 under 2500rpms.
So I will change my distributor next month with my timing belt and all other goodies I talked about on another thread a few minutes ago.
Is there any distributor, OEM or not, that will help me release a few more horses (hehehe), and since I will also change sparkplugs, any better combination of dist., wires, and sparkplugs than OEM? If so, which?
Thanks, and another

Unless is was a direct-fire / distributorless ignition like a Tech II (big $$$), no distributor upgrade will increase ponies. An aftermarket ignition + plug wires might. You have a contact-less electro-magnetic distributor. If accords had points-type contact distributors (from the early 80's and before), i would say you could gain a few ponies by going electro-magnetic.
