I drive my CR-Vtec everyday..usually take it to 8k serveral times a day too (everyday)...hasnt broken down on me yet...as long as it gets built right* then you shouldnt have any problems at first..<i dunno..ive only had it for about 5 months< but if your looking for a realiable VTEC motor..then nothing beats a B18C...
..all this crap about short rod ratios really bummed me out..and sleeves strong enough to hold a good amount of PSI but not high revs...also this crank girdle thing...if i knew i were gonna end up sleeve my block i wouldve just gone with my old B18C sleeved and bored to 84~85mm....just keep doing more research before you get it...Peace

b20 is a cool motor for every day driver but how built are you talking?? this will determine how practical it is!

My B20vtec will be ready in a couple of months. For you guys who have the 2.0 in you Civc, how does it feel compared to that weak 1.6?

i was planning on using a b20 block and a grs oil pump, gsr water pump , 11.5 pistons and run skunk 2 stage 2 cams, set the rev limiter at 8200. i dyno it with it factory and i put down 139hp and 105 ftq. i hope this set up im planning on will make a big diff.

My friend has a B20VTEC in his 95 Civic Hatch. Stock bottom end aside from a GSR oil pump. Pistons, rods, rod bolts, water pump all stock B20B parts. He drives it everyday and takes it to 8k daily. He has had that setup for over a year now. He has a GSR head on it with a Skunk2 intake manifold, GSR cams, and a VAFC. Put down 189 horsepower to the wheels, I forgot the torque numbers. Runs 13.4 down the quarter on slicks. Car feels wonderful.

I have had the itr cams in it the whole time so I cannot compare them to others.
No, no numbers of any sort yet.
