Will any B series motor fit in a 83 Civic????
custom welded in mounts, mods to the panels, hub/knuckles. custom axles, shift linkage, running whole new wiring harness or standalone ecu. all in all, for a shop to drop a 1st gen b16a its going to be about $5000 or so.
yes there are few with swaps and so on.

you wont really need that much money. i know of a guy on this board who has done a D16 motor into his 79 civic. all he needed was custom mounts and to build his own wiring harness. total cost less that $1000 including car

Haha Thats great! Theres this guy in my neighborhood with a sweet looking 1974 Civic Hatchback, and hes the original owner. It says GT on the door panel real big and has a cool Blue and white paint job, like it should be a autocross car. Anways I would love to drop a B Series in that baby...probably all 1200 pounds of it!
it may not be pretty, but it did have full penetration.
also the B-series motor will not fit in the 1200 chassis. i already did the measuring.
the D16A6 replaces the stock 50 hp motor (EB3) which should be plenty for a 1600 lb street car.

ive seen that before. that is a second generation civic, the egine bay is much bigger.
anyways, i think it is ok since i am only 16, and this is my project.
total cost of around less than $1000 including car i think this is a worth while car and swap. but to do this in a car that is 20 yrs old as the other guy with the second generation did, having to run stand alone ignition. not to mention the cost of the whole project. that my friends is ludicrous. the welding does need to be improved but it will withstand the forces intended.

Now I just have to find a shop that will do it. Anybody know of one?
I know I cant handle any swap.
Thanks for the pics and info.
It will be worth 5 grand!!!

Does anyone know if Place Racing or Hasports make custom engine mounts for this swap? Or does anybody know of a place in Northern Cali or anywhere near by that makes custom motor mounts?

And why not a 'B' motor after all that effort?
