Default h22 or b18c?

I'm driving a sohc Cavalier right now but buy the end of the school year, I plan on selling that an buying a 96+ Civic Ex coupe. I don't know how much easier it is to tune a SOHC Civic but I've heard that DOHC motors have much more potenial in stock form for those of us on a budget.

So I'm facing a decision. More than likely I'll be sticking with bolt-ons (i/e/h, cams, ect.) because after the swap I won't be up much for forced induction (too much price at once) so I wanted to know which would be a better swap. I've heard the b18 is a pretty straight forward swap while the h22 requires a bit of custom work.

So, which is the better price for the job done? Motor will probably be purchased from Hmotorsonline.com so all I need are opinions. Thanks guys.

i'd go with an H22 because they're cheaper and easier to acquire than a B18C. they also have more torque and HP. if you're going to do drags, H22 would be good, but if you're going to do AutoX, B18C would probably be better. just my .02
