are they saying it's the TPS sensor? I would think distributor, mainly the ignitor or coil pack.

It may be your IAC (intake air conroller) not working right letting too much air past the throttle plate causing high idle. cant say for sure though.

IACV = Intake Air Control Valve. $125 new or $50 used.

Mine did the same thing and it was the intake manifold gasket had a hole in it. Take some carb cleaner and spray around were the intake manifold meets the head and if it revs up then you will know....

Intake Air control valve. Not intake controller valve.

Take the IAC off and tighten the plastic screw back in. That sound fix it. Also check the TPS senors. Make sure the voltage is at .4 for idle.

PM me if needed. I'm a litte drunk

also just try cleaning the IACV. take it off and shoot some carb cleaner in there. I've even used simple green before, let it soak, rinsed it out really well and dryed it out with a hairdryer, worked like a charm and cost next to nothing

He;s got it. And if you spray around the intake mani with carb cleaner, the revs will drop, not rise. Pull of the IAC- it's the sensor behind the intake mani that you showed in your pic. There are 3 coolant lines and 2 12mm bolts. Pull it off. There's a plastic spring which regulates the air into the intake mani. There's also goin to be a metal screen. This is most likely clogged. Clean it up good before your ecu thinks it's bad. Carb cleaner, simple green, whatever JUst get it nice and clean, reset your ecu, and fire it up.

actually, before you pull off the iac...get the car to operating temp, and pull the plug off of it. If the idle goes down, then that's your problem. If not, then look elsewhere. This will be the easiest way to tell you if that's it.

Only 2 coolant lines on mine, but it might be different on the CX
