Default Just ran a compression test on my c5 with new piston rings, need some feedback

Ok, i got my b18c5 about 2 months ago, and the story behind it was that it came from a 2001 itr. The owner of the itr noticed it burned some oil, so he had the whole longblock replaced under warrenty. The result is, i got the old engine really cheap. So before i put the engine in my car, the dealership replaced all of the piston rings and an oil seal. I've now had the engine in for about 3000 mile on regular oil, and lately i've noticed that the damn thing is still burning a little oil. I heard that this can happen on new engines, is this true? Anyway, i did a compression test and here are my numbers. 210,210,200,210 #3 seems a bit off, especially because i have new pistons rings. I dunno, tell me what you guys think, is this ok for having new piston rings?

Your able to have up to ~15 differnce in between cylinders, Though i seem to see atleast 230-240 in ITR motors!

How much oil does it burn? ie.. 1 quart a week? or just like a little bit low on dip stick at ~3000 miles?

I just notice the blue smoke, but it doesn't burn that much oil at all. It's not like i have to refill on oil after a long trip.

215 all across and I trap 100mph with just a header and a freaking intake so I wouldn't be too worried about it. By the way was the car hot or cold when the test was done? It should be warmed up to operating temperature if I'm not mistaken.

did you hold the throttle open when you did the compression test? when i did myne with out hold it open they were all around 210 and then 230 with it open.

Yes the car was warm, and no i didn't hold the throttle open. Whew, its comforting to know that my numbers aren't that off. I still don't know why im burning oil though

0907 had 195 across the board (cold) and was still able to pull 165whp corrected with only a Spoon foam filter.

are you sure you have blue smoke coming from your exhaust and not just black? Type R's burn oil like CRAZY naturally, especially with thinner synthetic oil (ive noticed).

guides dont leak oil.

if it blows blue smoke at higher rpm its gonna be the rings.
at idle or cruise it will be valve seals more than likely.

Need to keep Throttle open! I assume then you will see better numbers!
