My friends has b16 engine in his hatch. The other day on his way home suddenly his car rev high and stuck at almost 10K rpm. He immediately shuts off the car. We came to the conclusion that there was something wrong with his fast idle because I have the same b16 head and when we put mine his car idles fine. We bought a new one from Honda for $170. However, when he installed it last night his car idles at 3500 rpm and increases to 4k. Plus there is a lot of white smokes coming out. Help us out if you know what we should do. I had the same problem with my B16A. Come to find out it was a leaking vaccum line in the intake manifold which controls the FPR. After I plugged the lose vaccum line the car idle fine. Have him check all the vacuum line for any leaks.
