I installed a Ractive CIA a few months ago, ever since then my car seems to have alot less exceleration, kinda like its boging down. Especially in the lower RPM's..

im not sure what reactive cia is never heard of company? But most cia make you make more power at the top end....correct me if im wrong guys?

I had the reactive short ram, I didn't notice any accleration loss...i didnt know reactive even made a cold air intake...but as far as loosing accleration? Do you have a 5spd?

 

he was just thinking the same thing as i was when he typed that. you have to have potential before you can improve on whats there (assuming the binksters engine is of inferior worth)

Yes, the only place you will see improvement is in the "top end." And usually you will see loss of power in the lower revs (depnding on how well the intake was made), which is why you would have to shift at a high point to see the gain in power.

Acceleration...not exceleration. I was actually thinking of exhilaration when I posted that comment, so **** off.

Ok.. sorry, I ment Ractive CAI.... Its a 98 civic EX 5 speed manual with a d16y8 SOHC Vtec with less then 20,000. I just blew my old engine and swaped it, i was going to get the B series but I couldnt go the 3 weeks with out a car while it was being delivered. I know CAI's give you more power at the high end, but its taking away power at the low end, kinda nulling the whole reason for putting one in. as far as the the whole "excited comment" yea.. I used to get hard when ever i steped on the gas, now im going to have to switch back the viagra... just answer my CAI question.. unless your comment didnt have any sarcasum behind it.. then, sorry.... thanks........

*Sigh* Don't get me started on that! My lawyer told me to keep trying to get the motor for a little longer while he gets some other **** worked out. I look like an ******* now with Yellow freight because I keep scheduling a pickup and someone at Upgrade keeps telling the pickup guy that they can't pick it up because Tim seems to be the only one that can ship products out (and he is never there). I'm telling my lawyer that if I don't have a tracking number for either the motor or a check in the mail by Friday, then to go ahead with the suit on Monday.
It's a clusterfuck, and I alwasy seem to be getting jerked around.....

 

didnt mean to get pissy.. its just theres alot of negativity tword others, granted some questions are rediculasly stupid.. but still no excuse.... Yes once I gave them the go ahead they had the D16 in running and in my car in 3 days.. my only complant is now I have a rattling under the car.. they keep telling me its my heat shield but i took it off and it did the same thing... it always happens at 2,300 rpm's unless im excelerating, then you dont hear anything.. I think its my cat...

 

start a new thread or search. exhaust noise. i have the same problem, some ppl say check the bolts. i say **** it, it's not my motor, it's from my tail pipe.
