6th gen exhaust interchangeable with 5th gen??

6th gen exhaust interchangeable with 5th gen??
im about to purchase a exhaust for my 92 hatch. but i am gonna run it with no cat. so instead of making a testpipe, i was thinking about buying the exhaust for a 96-up dx hatch. 96-up dx hatch the cat is in the header . So will an exhaust for an ek hatch work on an eg hatch??????????????
