Exhaust Piping Question
hey all. i have a b series motor in my 6th gen (96-00) civic hatch, in which the catalytic converter is positioned right after the downpipe of the exhaust manifold. as you probably know, in a stock dx engine of 6th gen civic hatch, the catalytic converter is in the header itself, which in term means, that a catback system for the 6th gen hatchback would have the b-pipe (mid-section) go all the way to the downpipe. so, if i get a catback for the 6th gen civic hatch, i'd have to cut the mid-section in order to provide room for the catalytic converter which i have now, because of the b series engine swap. so here's the question:
will a 5th gen (92-95) civic hatch catback work (as far as bends and mount points) with my car, 6th gen civic hatch, since i have the catalitic in the same place as a 5th gen honda civic hatch??? if anyone knows anything about this, please let me know. thanks for all your feedback. i'd go without catalytic, but i'm nyc, need emissions for inspection every year, so have to stay with the cat.
