Default Oil is coming from engine head and around headers? Need help and information.. pleaze!!

Alright i have an d16z6 motor stock. Like around 2 days ago, i popped my hood to check my engine out. And i saw oil. The oil seems like its around the right side of my engine head and the crack down by the right side of my headers. I dont think there is a oil leak but i really dont know whats going on w/ it. O yeah it has a 174,xxx miles on it so would that be the problem? Any information would help. I already searched but didnt get anywhere. So i though i would just post a thread about this. If you need more information or you its seem like this isnt enough information just let me know. Thanks alot.

There is most likely an oil leak. Your best be would be pressure wash off the oil and wait and see where its leaking from.

That engine has alot of miles and is probably leakin oil. I would make sure the oil is always at the proper level, and drive it till it dies . Always roll with spare oil

What do you mean by pressure wash off the oil. Please explain. Bu refering to leaking i think it's from the Head like around the edge. Cause the oil always end ups by the right side of my header.

use a degreaser to get the oily mess off of that part of the engine (degreaser = $1.50) and then drive some more. later, check to see where that oil is coming from...might be from the head gasket. might be coming from somewhere else...who knows...hope that helps...

Mines leaking about the same spot. Mine is a head gasket. Yours might not be. I can get a pic tommorrow if you like to see if it looks the same. I have 220000 miles on mine.

sounds like your head gasket. You'll be fine for awhile. Just watch your temp gauge and make sure you don't overheat- as in, just hope it's the oil alleys in the head gasket that are leaking. It's really easy to replace the head gasket in the D16Z6, but costly to have done. Few options here...

keep full with oil and drive it like normal. Watch the temp gauge in case the leak gets wors.

Replace the head gasket. Could be 50 bucks if you do it, or up to 200 for someone else.

Get a good deal on a D16Z6 with lower miles. I've seen long block go for as low as 150 bucks.

Good luck with whatever you do.

What he said, but I think it may cost more than $200 to have a place change out the head gasket.

either head gasket, cam seal, or valve cover. i think. pretty easy to change these on a four banger honda. My sisters 89 v6 legend has a really bad head gasket leak but as long as theres oil in the crankcase its all good. she puts half a quart in every other week. but were just gonna run it till it dies or is too unbearable. My dad says to change it for her because shes the baby and she gets what she wants. Not in those words but yeah. Im like hell no its gonna be a bitch to do.
