How do you get your block so *bling* bling*?
I see all these blocks that look so friggin nice and want to know what you guys are using to clean them. I've used Super Clean in the past but it always develops this white powdery looking residue after a few weeks. I'm sending my block out for sleeving and I want to clean it before the sleeves go in. Any suggestions? BTW it will be boosted so yes this is FI related.
TIA

hot tanking a crusty motor will give you that dry clay look....what I suggest is to bead blast it before you bring it into the machine shop to have it hot tanked

if you beed blast it.. be VERY CAREFUL and make sure you clean your block fully. any bit of that glass/sand in your engine means trouble for your bearings.
Did you try some brake cleaner? I tried it on my block and it worked pretty well. I think it was called Brakleen or something like that. We use brakecleaner on everything.
well just pay more for the place that is doing your sleeves to clean your block!\
i'm sure almost any shops like that will have a hot tank or some sort of cleaning procedure.

Use a wire wheel attached to a drill. Just go at it on your motor and it shines it almost like your polishing it. Same thing goes for the tranny. Use a metal polish afterwards and it get's even better. Doesn't take long at all either. Here is what mine looks like. (It's N/A but it works the same on FI
