Heres the deal, I have a S/C'ed GSR. Its fast but I want more. Im going one of these two routes.

1) More speed
2) More show

Plans for 1) Cams, Cam gears, HighFlow cat, PP, Injectors, Hondata
Plans for 2) 17's, new paint (maybe a dark blue), and air ride.

I would say go for more speed, but I figure 25 more hp at most. Im an abosulute speed freak, so maybe this car will never satisfy my need for speed, I dont want to spend that much money and still not be happy. So, maybe I should try my hand at show. The quirk about me that will make that difficult is that I HATE BODY KITS. I will never put one on my car, and show cars have them. Also, about the air ride, Im not as "stunna" as you are picturing. Im not gonna ride around with it slammed, Ill just drop it when I park it. More or less, it will be for the shows.

So all H-T biases about show cars aside, what would you do?

nitrous, new paint, new wheels, and Moton suspension...lol. I'd say ditch the air ride. Spray a 50 shot when the need be.

How about a little of both? Maybe paint and a set of cams & gears, or upgrade the pully and add an ECU upgrade, along with a new set of wheels. Might be less regret if you do a little of both, and have a well rounded beast

 

How about a mix of both? I think that the Port Polish, cat, and Injectors are good for performance. Then get a new paint job and some decent 17" rims. The air ride is not the best idea IMO, but whatever floats your boat.

Yeah, I know what your all saying. You make sense, the problem is, I dont. I love air ride, call me a ricer, a ***, whatever, but I just do. But the problem with your ideas (in my case) is that I wont have the air ride, and going 50/50 wont make it that much faster at all, not near what Im looking for anyways. Im not bashing your ideas, at all, but you see what I mean. But thanks for the input.

JUst do whatever is in your budget to do. What kind of condition is your paint in right now? If it's perfect or near that, do the paint last.

How much does air ride even cost?? Do that if that's what you want to do. You can upgrade some bolt ons, do some tuning, and get as much as possible from what you have.

Edit- my friend gained 30 whp just from tuning his turbo GSR a few years ago. That was with Hondata. So, tuning is key.

The paint is brand new, but sucks ***. You can see the swirls where they like rubbed it or somethin, idk, im not sure how painting works. Either way I go, I will spend the same amount. I will save, get a lump some, and have it all done at once. Air ride will be roughly 1700 to have a good, but basic kit. The rims I want I can get for 900 w/ tires. Paint, I havnt even priced yet. And that will be done last anyways. This paint hasnt been on the car for more than 2 months.

To sum it up-

Going appearance- 1) Will slow the car down, totally negate evetrything done to it.
2) The car only has ITR lip, and side skirts.

Going speed- 1) Alot of money for very little.
2) Im not totally pleased w/ the speed I have now, so this bump may still not please me IE-Money down the drain.
