i was either gonig to make the DIY CAI with the instuctions i saw on the web, or get an ebay CAI for $38, but before doing either of these, i need to know if these are ok to be able to pass emissions or not?

the main question is this: Does an intake need to be CARB approved for emissions with a sticker on the intake itself? .......or not?, cause if so, then that means i would need to get an AEM or something instead, cause i have inspection in March, thanks for any info you have.

Depends on who tests your car, technically they arent legal but most will leave you alone as long as you pass the emissions test.

 

i've heard that it's illegal to tamper with the stock intake system... but who drives around now in a car like ours without a modified intake... that's like one of the first things we do... i see your in texas also... i have a cheap no name intake and i had no problems whatsoever passing inspection... usually the guys around here are pretty easy going on mods etc. as long as your car can pass
