I just received my Sport Compact Car today with the results from the USCC, the ITR was 7th out of 10 positions. Its such a shame the ITR voted in was such a waste of money. The editors/writers couldn't even keep from ragging on the car with their comments, but I can't blame them.
Best thing about the car was it did make 384whp on the dyno.
Oh well maybe another ITR can try next year

Sorry if this is a repost.

I've met the owner of the car on a couple of occasions (Import Drags) and had a chance to quickly look over the car. While it is beautiful and he's got gobs of money in the car, it's not really a "race" oriented car. He was running 17 or 18 inch rims the day I saw him, had off the shelve Comptech suspension pieces and some other bling, bling items. Besides the massive amount of engine work, the car is really softer IMO than a stock ITR.
yep, they ragged the **** out of the ITR in the USCC article. Was funny as crap, "show car this, show car that" great stuff.
That is one ITR owner that is pissed!

I know that guy personally...he is a nice guy. He has produced well over 500 whp in the past, but had to tone it down for the streetability testing they did at the USCC. For example, they do gas mileage tests, etc...
Also, I dont think he did bad...the USCC is a bad test because it is comparing apples and oranges.

so what if it doesn't perform.I think the USCC is a great test, The point is to compare what different vehicles are capable of when people put money into them. The ITR is not a good representation of money well spend to build a performance vehicle to compete in the USCC

I forget 1-10, but the viper won. One reason the ITR did bad is because it has a drag suspension, and failed miserably on the road course. I don't think they should factor in the burnout test into the overall rating.
hmmmm.. type r didn't do thaat bad. beet the 510 datsun, srx-7 and 3000gt, three great cars. i thought the srx-7 and 510 datsun would do better tho =T
I think if the SRX-7 hadn't had fuel delivery problems it might have been up there for the roadcourse times. Big tires, 1700lbs and 360hp can only be but so bad. Really was a shame about the R, he should have known better, but I'm sure he still had a good time.
There was a funny thread about the car about a month ago.
The owner of the car even made a few post in it:
