OK,

I've been crazy busy these last couple weeks gettign this thing running. Sorry to all those I've dropped the ball on taking care of lately.

Axles:

Keep in mind this combo is for HCP mount kit. I make no promises it'll work with any other moutns, heck I make no promises at all hahah:

Left:
89 Integra outer joint & axle shaft
90 Integra Inner joint
90 Accord 1/2 shaft

Right:
89 Integra outer joint and shaft
H22 Inner joint

Mounts:
HCP - you MUST use the USDM 93-95 Prelude VTEC rear trans mount bracket

Wiring:
Used a Hybrid Automotive H22 Civic Harness. Using EGR and JDM P13 ECU.

A/C & P/S:
Fabrication is required. It does NOT bolt in. I had to notch the back of the top left crossmember/headligth support and use the *97+ H22 PS pump & bracket*. The 93-95 bracket & pump will NOT work. The A/C system will require a custom line for one section as there is simply not emough space to use the stock hardlines down by the compressor and condensor.

I used a GSR upper Rad. Hose. Worked prefect.

Del Sol VTEC dual core Radiator. Zero cooling issues.

Do I like it? Heck yes. It makes my wife's Integra Type R feel like a snail. The torque throughout the power band it wonderful.

Handling? It's noticeable yes. Does it destroy cornering? NO! It's like going from an empty tank of gas to a full tank of gas. You feel it, but it is inconsequential.

Moral of the story:

It's awesome. Do it! Or better yet, hire me to do it for you!

Wiring is easy. I might have a prewired ex civic harness for a H22 in a 96-98 civic if anyone wants one. Oh and lets see some more pics. That one you had just didnt do justice. Thanks.

 

if what pic didn't do justice? i didn't see anything, sorry. Man... i'm getting an h22a1 done by Jisatsu Racing Technology (281-752-9951) in my EJ as we speak. I call it an EJ because i don't see EK anywhere in my vin. in any case... yeah, i had some doubts doing this swap in my car but hopefully it will come out as nice as urs did. They're customing my axles with a combo of integra and prelude axels i believe. I supplied most of the parts and one of the things they said i didn't need was an Engine harness for it. They said they could wire up my DX one? and you used a del sol vtec radiator if i'm correct? along with the fan? or just the fan? can u email me some close up pics of theh engine bay and sorts at Novs26_84@yahoo.com Thanks.

 

I use the same axle combo, but the rear mount are from JDM H22a.. that explain why the rear mount are offset and always broken Thanks for the information

 

I didn't know you needed to use the usdm rear tranny bracket. I had no idea there was a difference. Maybe this is why my rear mount bushing tore also. Hmmm.

Anyone know where I can pick one up at?

 

I know you guys saw my big post and issues with the rear mount espeically with the Type S engine. Just do a search for it. Apparenly HCP forgets to mention that the mounkit only works if you use the rear USDM 92-96 rear mount. With my Type S engine and it being a 1998 year it was too short causing the motor to lean abnormally and give the wrong axle angle..

 

Yeah I remember reading all about that jason kidd, but I didn't know about the jdm 92-95 rear h22 bracket being different than the usdm one.

Ok this kinda pisses me off cuz no one ever mentioned this before, or maybe I just didn't notice it.

Where did you get your usdm rear bracket jason?

Do the other mount kits like hasports and place racing require you to use the usdm rear bracket also?

 

That I dont know. And I dont even know if it ever mentioned just like it was never mentioned by HCP. However I do know that if that was the case I definately would have just gone with Hasport because that brings the price up near there anyways..

But you live and you learn I guess.

i have the hasport kit and was wondering if i have to use the usdm rear tranny mount or i can use the jdm one i hope i don't need it because i will have to go to honda tommarow because i want my car done

 

Ok. I just talked to Newman and he told me that the jdm and usdm 92-96 rear tranny brackets are the same. He says he has both of these brackets lying around at the shop and they are identical.

 

Oh well. I have a 98 JDM Type S so I definately had to change the rear tranny bracket..

 

I thought they were the same the first time I laid them side by side as well.

When you line them up exactly, so that the foreword and bottom holes are exactly aligned (I used 1/2" socket extensions to align them) and verify they are aligned by lining them up with your eyes, you can see that the REAR BOLT HOLE is off by about 2/3 of the thickness of the bolt that goes through it. If I rememer correctly on the JDM bracket it's lower and further back, thus pushing the engine further forword (I could have this backwords).

This may not sound like much, but it sure made a difference when trying to get the engine installed & lined up.

Once I purchased a USDM bracket, things lined up great.

BTW, I sell the USDM 93-96 H22 rear trans mount brackets NEW for $60.00.

How do u make up custom air con hoses I have a REAL EF8 JDM SiR (I live in the Uk) parts for the air con i tricky to get hold of as EDM cars didnt have to same set up so I need to make a hose up as one came lose from a clip & got burnt by my header

Very nice write up.
That's pretty weak HCP needs the USDM rear bracket, but I guess that's what people need to do who have it.

I didn't have to change anything with my HASport kit. oh well.
