Default B16 w/ GSR tranny?

I already tried a search and didn't come up with anything helpful...

I was planning on going with a B20 longblock to take the place of my B18c1 and doing a N/A buildup, but now my thoughts have shifted.

Now I'm set on doing a B16 turbo setup. 7-8 psi tuned on stock internals. How will the GSR tranny work with the B16 motor? More low end scoot, or does the B16 tranny have better gearing overall than the GSR? I know that the Si and Type R tranny's have very similar gear ratios, but we're also comparing a somewhat torqueless 1.6 to a mediocre 1.8.

Any help/comments/suggestions would be appreciated. TIA.

I like how the GSR is at a lower rpm in 5th gear as compared to a B16 tranny on the highway. The 2nd and 3rd gear in the GSR are a touch longer than the B16's gears.

GSR trannys are pretty good for Turbo. I would do that or the Ls tranny.
