Default Indigo gauge question

I feel gay for asking such a question, but here goes. My buddies puttin some indigo gauges in his civic, and it didnt come with any instructions. He said theres two wires (black and orange?) that need to be ran, but he doesnt know where to run them. Im thinking the black wire must be a ground, and the orange wire must be some sort of 12v power wire? Someone please tell me if im correct, and where he should run theres wires, thanx.

what gen civic is it? either way run the wires to the dimmer switch, this way the gauges will come on when the light come on. Use a test light to test for power on the wires. I think the red/black is power when the lights on and black was ground. Make sure you test them before cuting into it. Also use those blue connectors, i thing there called splitters whre you can connect with out actually cuting the wire. hope this helps.

There was another post this month about this, someone put diagrams up and instructions. Think it was under the same title.

you wont brake the needles, just keep the indiglo flat to the cluster and slide the dauge over the needle. I did mine in an hour, thats start to end. It came with instructions but they were no good.
