Default Japanese in Gumball.

Well I am sure I will be more then flamed in this but here it goes. I can only pray that in the grid for 03 there is at least one stock NSX. I recently went to a Acura dealer and inquired into a new one. Was quoted a price out the door of 86,550. I have been a NSX lover for years, since about 92 lol so beasically the entire life of the car. Japanese inginuity as a whole was fascinating to me. Nothing can smote a NA low cylinder engine SCREEAMIN into the rpm range as it delivers the horsepower to the road in a fashion similar to a F1 car. Which is why I bought the S2K. As of recently I have become alittle more inquisitive with European technology. I have found although some may say the styling doesnt compare its all in your own taste. As far as performance. I would go Europoean for the rest of my days. Also as of lately due to experiences with my s2k I have become very leary of Japanese engineering, specifically thier drivetrains. After all Honda Racings most faulty parts are thier drivetrains. So back to the original reason I made this post. I hope there is a NSX in gumball just so it gets its *** handed to itself by every car in its class. Now with that said. Let the flaming begin.!

You can find a brand new '02 NSX for $72K-$75K. You just have to do a little more homework. Seen many for sale at this price.

A stock NSX in the Gumball would be the equivalent of a "one-legged man in an *** kicking contest."

I know of one Prelude in particular competing that will humble more than just the NSX.

As much as I've read about the Gumball, it's a race to various cities that eventually lead across the US. Obstacles include, traffic (that has no idea what you're doing BTW), police, and a certain level of mature logic. Even with the **** poor performance of the NSX and the faulty drivetrain Honda designed for it , even a subpar performance car (read: NSX) would be able to keep up with the "leaders" of a particular class.

So what's up?

Have you ever seen bootleg Gumball footage?

They're not exactly sportsman like.

LOL. They are not sportsman. I have the Mischief 3000 documentary on the Gumball from 02'. It is hands down the sweetest thing ive ever seen and would be the sweetest thing I would ever do if they let me in. The driving on there is amazing. Yes it is meerly traffic, but that can be quite the obstacle in itself, and for there to be NO accidents to directly in part to thier exotic driving tells you alittle more about the caliper of driving there is. As I said before more then several of the drivers are at least in some sort of racing circuit. As far as the NSX getting owned. Its just in straights, handling etc.... it cant hang with the 360's or the 911 Turbo's. It simply a supercar that doesnt quite meet the standards of a supercar in my mind. Now it may in others but dont hate for my opinion, nor am I knocking on anyone else for sticking up for it. But as said before it is a gorgeous looking car in its right Just given the money I would spend it else where. Its all a matter of personal opinion I suppose.

Road & Track.

But it was a wet course at the time of their test. So times for any of the three cars are gonna be off.

I think you should take into account that both the 911 turbo and f360 are also 40-60K more and when the NSX was introduced it was much better than what both porche and ferrari had in the states at the time. Plus I don't think anyone is running stock cars. And I know a yellow twin turbo NSX that could hand alot of those cars thier *** for less than a stock 911 turbo.
You can't use that arguement.

Everytime I say, well, the RX-7 was cheaper blah,blah.... I get cut-off, so you can't use price either.

Gumball is NO LIMITS racing, so don't set boundaries.

I thought that was pretty ingenious.

Driving in nice weather is SOO predictable for the most part, I like the chaos factor testing.

No, because the guys in ouped up beaters would run you off the road.

I would NEVER enter any of my cars into that thing.

It's like a Mad Maxx flashback.

"Everytime I say, well, the RX-7 was cheaper blah,blah.... I get cut-off, so you can't use price either."

When the NSX made it's debut in late 89 the RX-7 sucked ***. It was built to go head to head with what porsche and ferrari had at the time. Both in price and in performance.

The NSX is still aimed at that league even though outgunned it's still capable. Sure for almost half you can buy the Mustang Cobra R and run away from the NSX but the NSX is a different caliber car.

I would have to say though Honda fucked up big time by not doing a stateside S - Zero or NSXR though.
This explains it then, I can't argue years because you have different release years and models in Japan, assuming of course, that's where you are located.

Nice informative post. Creative writing class not working out for ya?

I'd have to agree, Honda screwed the pooch by not offering the Type R in the States. Why wouldn't you bring your best car to your most profitable market? Maybe in the future. Hope so.
