Default 98 v6 into 4th gen... (READ) should i do it if i can get the motor & tranny for really cheap. Why no

1)should i try it? since i'm getting the motor for a cheap price.
2)anyone done this (v6 into a 90-93 accord)
3)which shops can do this swap?

well my freinds 98ex V6 was REAR-ENDED and the car was salvaged.
The motor & auto tranny runs fine and perfect. it only has 42,000 miles on it. I know him personally and he RE_BOUGHT from the insurance for like $1,400.
I have a 93 accord auto....... i know that I CANNOT DO THE SWAP MYSELF!
..............BUT does anyone know a shop that will do this custom swap? I will pay any amount, because I am getting the MOTOR and TRANNY for a very very very cheap price($1,000)

help me out. I think a V6 in a 4thgen would kick arsssssss like hell.
Honestly i'll seriouly pay like $1800-$2000 to get this swaped in.
...........any shops that you guys reccomend?

if you wanna keep auto and have a nice upgrade why not just get a auto h22. they are pretty cheap, under 2k. and the price difference in installation would probably make the h22 total cost come out cheaper.

You are going to have to pay a hell of alot more than $2000 to get that motor into a 4th gen. Why even try this? It wont bolt it and would require a hell of alot of custom work.

It WILL cost more than the motor & tranny easily for all the custom work. Plus your car will be down for the 2-3 months (you KNOW you'll be fiddling with it for that long or longer). If you don't have a second car, haven't dropped a motor before, don't have a full set of tools or air or aren't very good with mechanics...i'd pass...

First let me say that you can do anything you want to any car as long as you have the money to pay for it. If it will be worth it in the end is another story.

You will be a lot better off if you get an h22 instead. You will get the same horsepower out of an engine that is almost half the size of the v6. Plus, the h22 drops right in with no major modifications(mine took a week and I did a five speed conversion as well). It would be preety cool to see a v6 in a 4th gen but it probably more trouble than it is worth.

I hope you realize that your engine is not big enough to hold the V6 engine, (even the 5th gen with the V6 needed a bigger bay) at lease not without some major modifications. Even if someone was willing to do it, it'll cost you like 10K+ just to install it!!! even then the car might not be consider road safe.

while the V6 will fit into a 5th gen, it will NOT fit into the earlier ones since the engine may is too small. the 5th gen car will have to have the front end lenghtened by about 3" to get it to fit

basically you have to cut the front end off a 5th gen V6 and put it on your car. If they did not change the mounting points from the 2.7L to the 3.0L then it would bolt right in....if they did then LOL as that is expensive to do custom fab work..

yes....buy the whole car....sell the leather interior, airbags, rims, motor + tranny + everything else. You will make a nice profit.

Saaaaaaay...is this coupe green by any chance? (see sig below)

The 98-02 v6 cars use hydraulic motor mounts just like the 5th gen v6. In the 5th gen there is more done to the car than just extending the front end there were also more chassis braces added to deal with the extra weight and the more torque. I think that this swap is pointless but that is just my two cents. Just buy the car and part it out and strip it and sell the scap metal.
