flooring it and then let off and it stays revved for a sec
no its as stock as stock can be, it is Vtech tho, would that do it? its ALWAYS done it since we bought it in 96
I think it's the ECU programming. I thought I would solve this problem by getting my lightweight flywheel, and it didn't. So I figure it's programmed that way to prevent flaming and backfires once you close the throttle after stepping off the gas.
My 02 coupe does the same thing but its a manual, so thats the way it should be for me. If your car is a manual also, its fine. Manuals do that because if the rpm drops too fast, car will jerk when u dont shift fast enough, so the ECU is programmed that way. If its auto, check your throttle cable like stated above.

factory flywheel was designed like that, bit heavy to keep inertia, so it is smooth and confortable for daily drivers
