Symptoms of a Burnt Valve? AGGGGHHH!
Ok so I get my B20 from HMO and I was changin the plugs and in the no.1 spark plug runner IC oil. I thought ok just from shippin ya know? So today I pull off my IM to have a look around and I look @ the No. 1runners @ the valves. The very first in. valve looks like its taost. Very black and oily. So Ic if I can scrape it off and then I turn the carnk and when the valve closes (should be completely seal'd correct?) the carbon would blow around above the valve!!!!! Do I have a burnt valve? Or could this be worse... burn'd/busted rings/lands? The engine is still out of the car so any help would be great. Thanks.
O and if anyone has pictures that would be really sweet!

do a leakdown test with the cylinder at TDC and see if air comes out of the intake/exhaust.
here is what mine looked like...the car would not idle, due to the masssssive hole
