Has anyone bought/seen an RSX Type S with the '03 "Performance Package"?
I understand it includes bigger brakes, stiffer suspension, 18" wheels?, bigger rubber, wing, spoiler and ground effects. Is it factory or dealer installed? Sounds like a Type R without the The Type R engine.
Its suppose to be only a "bling bling" mods. Bolt on accerssories and such. We are suppose to have done once the stuff comes from the Honda Warehouse.
I'll see if I can post some pics.
$4800?!? Hell, I'll do it myself and put the money in my retirement account. Or just wait for the Type R.

FP package = watered down ITR package.
I think it looks good, especially on a different color. But yes, overpriced. However, you can work that into the purchase of the car and finance everything. I'm sure you could deal on it.
WOW, 4 g's for that ****.... hell no... id take that money and spend it on the car myself, jesus christ what the hell is Acura thinking....omg...still can't believe the price, that is insane!! tooooo much money!!
I actually talked to one of the Acura workers, at the local car show I went to, and they told me that the Rsx Type R, will be arriving here, in about a year, but will be de-tuned, now I don't think he knew what he was saying, because he said that the power difference will not be a lot, against the Type S.
He said the Type R will be de-tuned to 200 hp, in which I turned to him and told him the Type S is at 200 right now, what will be the point of bringing out the Type R, might as well get the "rip off" package and you have the same thing, besides the colors, and he staired at me with a little dazed and confused face, so I hope he knew what he was saying about it coming here in a year. I will definitely want to get my hands on one of them.
I am also getting a website and a number to Acura of Japan, I think some of you already might have it, and I am going to contact them, and ask them somehow when the Type R will be coming here, that is IF it is coming here.
So those who might waste their money on the package, could be paying that extra little money, and be getting the actual Rsx Type R!

FP includes ugly 17" wheels, an ugly underbody kit, an ugly wing,
slotted rotors of the same size as stock, slightly more aggressive tuning on
the springs and struts, and some goofy badges. It is installed by the dealer and
the parts are not available individually.
It's a $4800 joke.

Well you can put my line as your signature all you want, but I just contacted like 4 dealerships, and I asked them about the RSX Type R, and they put me down on their list, that if they are to get any information, they will contact me but so far for now there is nothing on the RSX Type R.
I also got the number to Acura of Canada, and Honda of Japan, so I want to contact Japan, but I'm afraid they wont speak english, haha, or the long distance charge is too much! Cause man it's a freaky number!
So that's about all the updates on me trying to get information on the RSX Type R!

there is no such thing as Acura of Japan
i say don't bother trying to look for one, it will never come here, simple as that, same as the ep3R, that will never hit the US shores.

exactly the point, and the dealer put you on a list? pwahaha, those salesman must have a field day with you, "look at this guy, let's put him on our 'list' for Type R's..."

Your best bet is to get the Type S and do not get that factory package *** raping they offer. Get the S and the 5ooo.oo you save invest into some well worth mods.
Brembo brake set up = 18oo.oo
Tien Suspension set up = 21oo.oo
CA/SR Intake = 324.oo
header = 4oo.oo
Better tires= 4oo.oo
Total= 5024.oo
Now this is worth the 5ooo.oo Price tag IMO. But I guess to each his own right?
maybe your thinking of the performance shop in cali who did a so called type r conversion. it was in honda tuning magazine around november. it was basically jdm as much as possible and a few performance mods.
oh boy! A $29K RSX-S?!!! Man, forget the WRX STi or 350Z, that thing is bang for the buck explosive! heh.
