Skunk2 Manifold on a b16 head / gsr block with boost - worth it?
I saw another post saying that you wont reap many benefits running the skunk2 manifold on the b16 head. Is this due to small charge piping (I think I'll have 2.25")? I'm getting basically a MaxRev t3/t4 turbo kit to go with a first gen b16 head, gsr cams and a stock gsr block. I already have the manifold, but i will sell it if it's not gonna do much. Please give your input.

Well stock for stock the b16a head and the gsr head flow about the same cfm. Putting the skunk2 intake manifold will yeild the same power on both heads. You will gain the slight edge on making power with the gsr head since the compression is .2 higher with that head. I put together a stock b16a head, gsr bottom end and stock gsr cams. This is probably the best combination of stock parts, short of using the type r intake manifold on the b16a head. I would stick with your set-up, but add arp head studs and a 2.7mm thicker headgasket to lower your compression. I was running 14lbs daily on pump gas with a 60-1 on the engine that i listed, with all stock internals, thicker headgasket and arp head studs.
