Default Will using a stock resonator hurt my performance on my exhaust?

I'm curious as to if I should use my stock resonator on my new custom exhaust? I'm going to be running 2.25" catback to an ES oval muffler. I want a very subtle, and quiet tone. I know I want to run a resonator. Will the stock one suit me just fine, or will it restrict my performance in the end and should I just get an aftermarket one at an exhaust shop?
