Default Autometer Air/Fuel Gauge

I've installed the air/fuel onto the standard ECU O2 pinout. When the cars is idling, it sweeps from full lean, stays there for a couple of seconds and then sweeps to two greens (rich) and repeats itself. Is this normal??

When I'm cruising, it sweeps from 1-2 reds to 1-2 greens quite quickly back n forth. I'm just a little concerned when it stays on the reds for a while sometimes during idling. I'm not getting any warning signs whatsoever though and cars runs fine. Is this how the gauge is suppose to work??

Its on a ITR with bolt on mods on stock internals, awaiting booost.

Its normal for it to bounce back and forth during idling and cruising....the only time it gets a decent reading is when you are accelerating...I have one too and looking to get rid of it and get the greddy air/fuel if not a wide band.

The only thing its gonna tell you is when you're at WOT and the thing it red...then you're in trouble. Btw did you tap the ecu o2 or the o2 sensor itself?

Good luck boostin' you're gonna love it!!!

How accurate is the Greddy a/f gauge? I am in the market for one and want to make the right decision and not go broke at the same time.

so your saying the Autometer is just as good as the Greddy. But the Greddy is just a better gauge.

Its tapped into the ECU O2 pinout. Well, that puts my mind at rest then

When I'm accelerating harder than normal or at WOT it stays at 2-3 green, so I guess that its working as it should be.

Put it this way DWILSON . all the pros arent using Autometer becuase they are shitty and inaccurate.
I have em and they work great for me. I was gonna get the greddy's, but couldnt fathom paying much more for the Greddy name to be on my gauges. . . . plus as far as I know Greddy doesnt pay contingency. . .i could be wrong, but i never saw thme on the cont sheets for payouts. . . thats a determining factor for some of the racers here too
