You forgot PCT (CTR). WHY? They are cheap and they are the best OEM piston for all motor. I am running them and them.

I did some research a while back. I believe it was on the FF-Squad website they had multiple listings for what compression could be had by using stock pistons. With your B18C1 block with CTR pistons and a B16A head your compression would be in the area of 11.8:1. Why waste money on aftermarket? CTR pistons are half the cost of those other aftermarket ones. They also come with the special coating to reduce friction.

If this is the case and you combine this with some good cams and head work you'll be making some serious power. I would check out their website some real good info.

CTR, with a thin head gasket, will yeild some good compression... and is cost effective. so that's 3 votes for CTR

You can buy CTR pistons new through several aftermarket companies. One that comes to mind is Options Auto Salon. I think they carry them for something like $60 bucks per piston. Also check the Best Buy section of this site.

I picked some up off H-T not too long ago for $180 shipped (without rings). I have seen them online at stores for around $200 w/out rings.

Yes, they are in my daily driver. You must run the highest octane available. I also reccomend arp rod bolts (9mm) especially if you going to turn it high (over 8,500 rpm).

would ctr pistons work in a LS motor what would be needed for this combo? my LS is on the verge of croaking (it starts knocking at 4000 rpm) so im gonna do a rebuild on the bottom end of my next motor with pistons rings and thinner head gasket any other recmmendations?
