Default Best tire prep at the treck

Yo. Just wondering how to get the best traction with my 205/50 Falken Azenis. I went to Palmdale Wednsday night and could not grip at all, maybe cause it was freezing (9 pm). I plan on going to Fontana this SAT so what tire pressure is good? and how should i heat'em up? (waterbox,or after?) Running a b16, some guy told me i should be droppin at 5-6 k with the Azenis, i dunno bout that.

drop the pressure to 10 psi and heat them up really good. launch at what you think is right, if it's too low, you'll know. but, drop the pressure in the tires for sure.

um i would not suggest dropping the pressure that low-i have seen people snap axles as a result.

the track temperature has a WHOLE lot to do with it. No matter how well the track is prepped, if the track is cold(below 50F) then everything will be slick. Why do you think the whole racing industry shuts down during the winter? There really isnt anythng you can do about it let alone run a jet drier in front of you to warm up the rubber.

Drop your tire pressure to 22psi. I did this past friday and hit a 14.6 compared to the tire pressure at 32psi hitting a 14.9. This friday was also really cold at Orlando Speed world.

I went to Sears Point yesterday and I had the Azenis 205/50/15 at 35 psi i/h/e 6 puck and clutchmaster flywheel and I couldnt get one fricking good run! I hit a 16.3 RT .6 /17.1 RT .8 /16.1 RT .9 1st and 3rd run I dont know wat happened, but wen I shifted to 2nd I was at 20mph and redlining so my 2nd gear ended up at 3000rpm. the 2nd time I ran 1st gear was ok till I hit 2nd and it wheel hopped like a **** and it popped out of 2nd gear! during the three runs it felt like crap maybe and if everything was smooth I know I could of got atleast 1.5-2 seconds better. It could be because it was my first time on the track and I couldnt handle it like I do on the street! Well even though I was dissapointed myself I had a great time. This was also my best friends first time too mustang 5.0 wit headers and we ended up almost getting the same times because he couldnt get any traction!

where do you live?^ sounds like your dumping the clucth to fast when you take off. or revving to high. feather the clutch and dont slam the gas right away IMO for best results. and it's ET not RT thats reaction time not elapsed time. o and incase anyones wondering why i just answred my own topic question. i didnt post that. i left my account logged in at my friends and he didnt notice.

i ran my civic at sears point last november on azenis (32psi) and cut 2.23 60ft times. try lowering ur pressure a little and try not to spin the tires so much.
