I need help, today when i was driving on this weird surfaced road that had alot of bumps, and dips.. not big ones though, i noticed my front left (driver side) part of my car would make a weird "klung" sound when i hit dips.. Not literally Hit them, but when i would drive over bumps, or thru dips.. (small ones, big ones..).. this just started to happen today.. and im getting paranoid.. it continously makes this sound when i drive thru bumps and dips.. even if i slow down, as much as i can, and be careful.. what might be the problem.. im scared it might be my axle.. any advice, opinions, greatly appreciated.. thanks

 

check your upper control arm balljoints for up and down movement...

 

I had my bro check it out, (im only a girl) haha.. he said its fine.. but i still have no idea what that damn sound is..

 

SOmeone help me? before i take it to the dealer and get it checked out, and get charged way more than what i can probably find somewhere else

Please take it to a shop that will actually fix it...i just gotten into an accident and messed up my left fender...i took it to the body shop and bring it back with the same knocking sound you described, i think something is wrong with the shock absorber??? I think the god damn body shop took out my good parts and put in shitty stuff to make me bring it back..i hate all body shops now

but yeah, it has to be something with the springs, shocks...just have it looked at before your wheels fall off *just kidding*

what exactly is shock knock? my accord has been making that sound for quite a while. it used to worry me but i got under the car and thoroughly checked everything but nothing showed. the noise she described is exaclty what i've been hearing and from the rear suspension only.

 

keep us posted on what the dealer say. cause i too have the same problem ... but its more pronounced when i brake then accelerate.. there's another thread about this problem.

 

mine use to do the same exact thing except it also did it when going from a stand still (a little). got worse over time. dealer couldn't figure out what it is, they even tried scoping stuff. Finally they just tore the suspension apart and lubed everything really good, and retightened it all, and it went away.

 

the springs and shocks on my 91 Si were completely trashed when I replaced them this summer, and they made that noise in the rear atleast. It turns out that my front 2 springs had pieces actually broken OFF the coils by the tops and bottoms of the spring perch. After I droped it on Eibachs and Tokico shocks I didn't have the problem anymore. I'd look at your shocks.

 

Man my car has been doing this for about 1 year. its getting worse. ive taken it to 2 shops and they have never known what it is. i just turn the music up and pretend its not there because i dunno how to make it go away. mine knocks when im just driving and lil dips and stuff make it knock a few times. when it warms up it doesnt do it as much. i dunno

 

had the shop look at it.. they said.. i need new shocks? will be back with all the details.. i think they just want money..

 

if your goin to get new shock, might as well get some aftermarket ones but ask them why they think you need new shock, if it blown, ther was a way to test if it blown shock by like pushing down on one side of the car, and see hwo it rebound. else you might just need supsession parts
