Default Seatbelt/Airbag vs. Harness/No Airbag - What's safe?

I just wanted peoples opinions on this, i have the ability to go without airbags and some recaro seats, and decide on what harness to go for, or just the normal recaro seats with the seatbelts, and keep the airbags in.

I imagine the safest way is of course, seatbelts + airbag, but just wanted to fully compare the two........I wouldnt mind for me, the driver to go without airbags and seatbelts, but what does scare me would be if i had a passenger, and being responsible for his/her life.

well if you do and track time like with other cars and such i would go with the harrness combo with out the airbag cause if you get bumbed alil and the bag goes off that a problem. and a harrness if tight you aren't going any were

heres the dealio. IF you have a 4pt/5pt harness with a car that doesnt have a cage, and you roll over, thats gonna brake your neck. Thats the advantage of the 3pt belt, alows you to freely move left, right, and so forth.

4 point + no air bag + ROLL CAGE is safer than airbag + normal belts. but unless you have a roll cage, a 4 or 5 point is really dangerous like somebody said above.

i completely agree, i have a racing bucket, 5pt, no airbag, and a 4pt roll bar and i feel very safe. but imho if you take ANY of those items out of the setup then its not safe(unless you cut a hole in the bottom of your seat for the submarine belt. dont get a 4pt harness b/c it rides up and will **** you up in an accident... and if you do decide to take the airbag out and get a harness then you have to wear the harness ALL THE TIME. i was driving 40 mph down a road i take everyday to school and a girl came out of nowhere and sideswiped me which spun me around, but i had time during the accident to regain some control of my car b/c i was in place so tight. i didnt get injured at all. but if your taking out your airbag id say you have to take out your stock seatbelt with it so youre not tempted to wear it for short trips around town or whatever. just my .02

I have three friends with back problems for life due to air bags. They were all wearing seat belts too, so no telling if it chaged the outcome.

I've been in three head on collisions. I only wore a seat belt, NO air bag, my worst injury....I sprained everything in my left arm. Sore for a two weeks. These weren't speed hits either. One guy ran a red light, one was on the freeway...his car spun out, the last a lady pulled out in front of me. All 3 happened between 45-70mph.

One day I will learn how to spell everything correctly the first time.
