usdm vs. jdm.....type-r vs. GSR.....
i wanted to do a b18 swap into my 93 cx, and i have heard so many stories on motors that i'm now confused on what to do. I live in california and i wanted to know if there is any way to pass smog on a jdm motor. Many people have told me that if you have the right cat. and wire and harness, it will smog as long as you re-ref your car. Also, people have told me that i should save up the extra bucks and go for a type-r. I know the type-r is more HP, but i'm not sure if i should wait it out a few months more. DOes any one know how much i could get a usdm typr-r full swap for? Thanks!!!!

Before you think about smog problems, you should think about what you really want your car to do. Are you looking into getting NA, Turbo....NAAAWWWZZZ?
Just kidding, B18C5 is good all motor, but other well built B18s will slaughter it with forced induction. It's really up to you, your wallet, and your dreams.
Work on the big steps first, then work around the little steps.
