Default Need Help!!!!

I have a -3 plus camber

The man that aligned my car said i need to replace my upper control arm

I got a spare rex in my back-yard and decided to take it off. The only problem is that I can't take it apart. Exactly how do you?

I guess it's the ball joint.
Is the tool the only way of taking that apart?

if your gettin a whole new control arm.. you mise well use a hammer

EDIT: i get it now.. get a separator. i wouldn't recommend the fork type because they rip boots

When u use that tool it comes apart, but the bushing stays on right?
Do I need to put it back together before I use the tool?

that "bushing part" it part of the control arm. To buy it new it's like $120. if you just hammer off the one you want to use you will probably ruin it

it's all one piece the rubber is just a cover to prevent dirt from getting into the ball joint
edit: just have someone hold onto the control arm to keep it from moving around to much. also you can get a cheap spreader for like 15 bucks

yes, I spray a little wd-40 on it to help prevent the boot from ripping. be careful and you shouldn't have any problems
