hey my car is a 1990 si hatch. i got a jdm motor (suppose to be the same motor that was in the car, no upgrade in performance--does that make sense?? ) put in by watanabe and i was checking out what was stamped on it and it says ZC. i want to know the specs on this motor but cant find any and everyone i talk to says theres no such thing as a SOHC ZC motor. so if anyone can enlighten me thanks. sorry if this is a stoopid question but i just want to know ...thanks

Whoever told you there is no such thing as a sohc zc has their head so far up their ******* *** it's in their stomach. That is exactly what u have---BTW it does have 10 more h.p. than a d16a6.

 

ok heres what im doing im gunna take a pic of my engine bay and then a pic of the engine code and you can show your friends what a sohc zc looks like, mine is rockin' harsd and strong...Its a mild improvement over the a6....i compared cams and the a6 cam's lobs are alot skinnier (i guess that'd be the profile was smaller) but most other things are the same.

i was informed that the zc's had like 5 horse more at the most.

every d16 in japan is a zc. my 93 sohc vtec is a zc

 

I heard it was rated at 120 h.p., which actually be 12 h.p. over the a6's 108. Something to do with the beefier cam and zc pistons--but could be wrong---anyone?
