JDM ITR headlight ?.......
I did a search so don't jump on the band wagon and say "the search button is your friend, ok with that said here is my question, a friend of mine is looking into a JDM ITR front end converstion for his teg, but he wants the HID front end. Are the headlights the same for the HID version and the Non-HID version, by this I mean beside the bulbs and ballast and wiring in the HID version are the headlights themself the same? The reason I am asking is because I know there are Black house and crome house(non-hid I beleive??) and I told my friend to get the Non-HID because of the price difference and then just get some aftermarket HID for the headlights. Pictures whould be a help, thank you in advance
to answer ur question,
There is a balck housing HID headlite. Non- Hid headlites use 9006 bulbs where as the HID headlight use teh JDM h4 bulb. The difference is that on hte housing there are lines, on the HID housing the lines are broken into a circle around the low beam projector. For my car, i use the NON HID housing( which is alot cheaper), with a 9006 HID kit. It works perfectly.....

well HID is just the BOMB!!! I got a set of HID's and they are beautiful. You spent so much on a ITR front already why not take it a next step and get HID. And if your buddy still needs a OEM JDM HID set-up email me, I have 2 sets available.

Just to clear up any confusion, aside from the lense cover differences, the headlights are still not identical. The HID light is obviously designed, both optically and physically, to accept the D2S HID lighting. It uses D2S HID capsules, not H4 bulbs, and it will produce a higher quality beam pattern and cutoff than the non-HID headlight with a 9006 retrofit kit. This is not to say that the non-HID with a retrofit kit will produce terrible results, just that the factory system will perform better. If you can afford it, factory HID is the way to go.
