i have the vortech fmu and the inlin fuel pump that comes with it but havent hooked it up yet...could that be the problem??..i have seen cars go on without an upgraded fuel pump or fmu and still did fine...

im assuming fuel pump , if the fuel pump cant keep up the fuel pressure will go down under load. . . at least thats what i noticed when i had fuel pump probs with my nitrous set up before i put the new one in .

So you have the FMU hooked up but not the inline, right?

Also, stock intanks aren't going to keep up with 120psi of fuel pressure(40 at idle and 80 or so the FMU is going to add). I've had my inline cut out on a dyno before, and at 6psi my A/F was 16:1!!! The cars you've seen won't las long

You need to run the FMU and in-line pump or......

not using the FMU will require a mangement system such as Hondata (which still needs a 1:1 regulator anyways) This is probably the case you saw of a turbo car with out a traditional FMU.

You definately need to run the fmu AND inline pump with what you have now. That is the solution to your simple problem.
