I have a 96 civic ex coupe with b16a. No ac, no spare.. I weighed it at the local dump today with full tank of gas and me in it.. Came out to 2600lb even 91.74lb and me 170lb fully clothed.. that would mean the car weighs only 2338lb???? does this sound right? that seems quite light considering my car is so slow

That sounds too light. Dump scales arent too accurate when the load is that light. They are calibrated for million billion pound trucks, not little imports. But I am surprised that they are that far off. Did u go to the one on 234?

 

On the title for my 96 Cx it says the car weighs 2175

because you asked him if he went to the one on 234 and that is in woodbridge. so in order for you to know about that dump you must live around here.

 

yeah i drive a big truck for work and i know for a fact their not acurate their meant for metal weighing if you bring straight scrap steal you get 1.50 for every 100 lbs
their is always 200 lbs of dirt on the thing and if you bring in anything valuable they make you way on a small balancing scale
i asked the guy at my dump about weighing cars he says its only acurate to 200 lb plus or minus depending on the one you go to they dont care about how much something weighs but the diference on the way out form the way in
