Ok well all I found was that it can be done. Here is my question. If I remove my SRS computer and anll connectores will I get a CEL light? Or more importantly will it read that I removed it on my OBD2 adapter?

The only reason I ask is because my airbags are blown and i am getting a new steering wheel. so would like to know if I will pull a OBD2 code if I pull my SRS computer.

No CEL.

You might have the SRS light come on, but you fix it by unplugging the yellow connector at the back of your guage cluster.

I did both on my 93 CX, and have had no problems at all.

 

any problem w/ inspectors. Here they only look at the dash and plug it in to the OBD2 adapter no codes = pass

 

srs computer is completely separate from the 'normal' ECU.

if you put on a wheel with an air bag to pass.... here's how to reset the light

1. turn ignition switch off, remove ECU service connector
2. connect (jump) the MES connector (this is 2 pin yellow connector wrapped in yellow plugged in the front of the underdash fuse box)
3. turn ignition switch on
4. SRS light will come on for 6 secs then go out, remove the jumper within 4 secs after the light goes out.
5. the SRS light will come on again, reconnect the jumper within 4 secs after the light has come on.
6. the SRS light will go off, remove the jumper with in 4 secs after the light has gone off.
7. the SRS light will blink to times indicating the memory is reset.
