honda/caura hasn't given us anything good lately besides the S2000... my 2c..

 

1.6 liter vtec?? They should put in the RSX-R motor in it!!! now THAT would be a CRX!

But it would be REALLY sweet if they put in a reliable high performance CVT eh!!?!!

Man i hate the front end!!!. They should just use the old front end! (change it a little though) It looks to much like a ******* mini van!! But i would still love to see honda put the crx back in protuction

 

That **** is bad ***.. And if its K series to begin with or as long as u could put a new k20 R motor into it.. talk about some fun..

 

right on with the DC5-R swap in there. something with about 200 horsepower and a nice 4.785 final drive would oooowwwnnn.

 

i HOPE it is Bull ****... I hate the K-series first of all... The CRX is great the way it is but would totaly suck if they remade it... and besides it is prolly fake anyway...

The K-series is no B-series? You're right, the K-series is a better platform than any B-series engine ever was. Better head (flows nearly, and I mean nearly, as good as an F20C), more displacement. No B-series engine ever responded as well to basic bolt on's as the K20A2. Now the chassis the K-series come in are a step back, IMO, but the motors are stout.

 

The Civic Si's K20 is pretty shitty with half assed VTEC, but the rest are great. And since it seems everything from Accords, CRVs, Elements, Civics, RSXs, are all using the K-series Honda must have faith in it.

yeah, i like that pic a lot.. if only it would end up exactly like that when it came out...

btw, there is no "rsx" type R yet.. just integra. hehehe.

 

great idea. let's all PRAY they make this... but they should really bring the B16A back for this... mmmmm... B16 goodness.

 

I thought this was the rsx and the article was a preview of it.

 

the b series is no more, like someone stated before, the k series is in just about everything now. and I am sure if this rendering is taken to the next step to prototype that it will in fact have a k16 in it (prolly the same block or damn close to the k20).
I am wondering why the article does not say i-VTEC, just VTEC though.
the I3 DOHC I think is a crazy idea. never heard of it before.
i do not believe that it would consume much of the rsx and si's sales though.
more of the ppl who would buy it would be looking for a compact car. I think it would eat up sales from the Z4 and the forthcoming '05 miata(full redesign).

 

i like it. doesn't look too bad and i'm glad they're keeping it light and compact. as long as that 1.6 is decently fast then i think it will be a success. CRX , it will never die.

 

if they wanted to... they could bring back the B-series... Is that likely? hell no... just a dream...

 

I bet it will end up with one of those new 1.7 SOHC Civic EX motors. No way they are putting a DOHC! We are just not that lucky enough.

 

at this point it is probably cheaper for honda to make a k-series motor than a d-series, besides hondas goal seems to be to get all of thier 4-cyl car running off of the same motor family, it wouldn't surprise me if the '06 civics come with a k16 or such.
yeah but at what ridiculous cost? just about everyone on here realizes that honda does not like to take risks and they definately do not like to waste money.
