92-96 Blue Gauge Conversion
Ok i finally did this again and got some pictures and ill post on how todo it here are the pictures http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4290804683
Step #1- Remove both the tweeters from each side of the dash.(They should Pop off there isn't any screws)
Step #2- Unscrew the Top Lip it has a total of 8 Screws which can be a pain because there isn't much room to work. (I found it easy just to use the Bit instead of the whole screw driver)
Step #3- When the lip is off now u want to unscrew the 3 screws that are holding in the Cover over the gauges. Once the screws are off I found it easiest to pop off the cover on the right side just pull on it alittle bit and it should pop right off.
Step #4- Now u have access to the surface of the gas/oil/clock gauges. Now use some sort of blue film (http://www.misterart.com/store/view....1&group_id=420) over the gauges. I used a black electrical tape to tape it into places so it won't show when u put the cover back over the gauge.
Step #5- Once u have covered over the Gauges with the Blue or any other color just place the Cover back over the gauge and u should have a nice blue conversion no more green
.
Well there isn't much to it, it shouldn't take too long todo the hard part is getting the lip off when i found using a screw bit other than the whole screw driver I was able to do it alot fast. Take some time on when you are placing the blue over the gauges because it will leak if it isn't over the whole gauge. From sides you will be able to see green if it isn't done correctly.(I ran out of gel so there is currently a leak in mine but only from 1 angle) Well i think this is all i need to say about. this lil write up was done by : Kevin Wetzel (KW93LUDE) thanx to Andy4thSE for letting me use his 95 Special edition prelude for this lil write up hope this help.

right now me and my friend have ordered some more blue film we ran out...but we are gunna go over a stock 94-96 gauge and then im going to put some blue over my White Face Gauges which change colors but hopefully with the blue over it ..it will match my gas/oil/clock more..next sat. problee when we will do it we just gotta wait till we get the color
it doesn't make it a green if u put it over the red i did that when i first did it...it kidna just makes it a different shade of red and the Cruise Control Green turns to a really light blue which is hard to see thats why i re-did it just to cover the gas/oil/clock instead of the whole gauge cluster
Hey KW93LUDE, Your Lude looks just like Mine, I want THOSE Lights, Im planning On getting all Clears and Starting My Mods soon... as soon as the cash comes in.... I'm thinking about getting the Black Widow Side Skirts and Rear with the r34 Octane Front

when it i say it leaks ....it means if u do'nt have enough of the gauge covered.....from a angle u can see green thats not good means the gauges isn't covered all the way..thats what is wrong with mine right now..i just need more blue to fix it
Keep us posted when you get the stuff in and do the speedo. I have thought about doing something like this before but I am scared about the needles. I don't know how to safely remove them and then install them. I ran into this problem and basically threw out the idea. I wanted my tempand gas guage to match everything else.
looks awesome man! Good job. I had a question along the same lines...is it possible to switch out gauges from the 92s, to the gauges in the 94+ (the electronic ones)?
yes you can convert your guauges...youll need a 94 and up guages cluster, the Inverter box, dimmer relay, and complete dash wire harness, note you can do it without the harness, but it becomes much more difficult, and youd need a very good ability to work with wiring...if u have everything though, its plug and play...also to change the color of the 94 and up guages you cant lay blue film over the guages, youd have to put it behind the face...peace
I did my speedo and everything a while ago. I have a 93.
The speedo looks a lot better now on mine than it did in these pics,I had to do some work on the housing to get it to shine a nice deep blue. I will try to get a new pic after I modified it. This pic was taken when I was still trying to get the speedo right.

Is anywhere description or how to for blue gauge conversion ( actually speedo)?
Yes I can see pics, but technology is not clear enough...
Have You used "blue film" on back side of speedo ( unexpensive way )?
Or bought special gauges (expensive way ) ?

to do the speedo you need to pull the cluster apart trim the film to fit so you dont have issues. there are quite a few post about this on here so just search a little more. there is even one that shows how to take about the speedo exacly
I didn't found the speedo conversion stuff, but
i did fuel,temp & clock conversion.
Difference was, that I removed plastic light filters from theese gauges at all instead of simply adding film to this plastic light filters.
The biggest problem is, that in my country ( Latvia ) we must run lights 24h -
( Similar as in Canada i think) so the result is that theese gauges are amlost invisible.
Lights off - COOL

Lights on -

how did you guys make the gas/temp gauges look so blue. I have three layers of blue film and it looks blue-green. I also put blue film on the back of my speedo/tach and its blue-greenish too. I have a '92 prelude.
Great write-up! I have read all the previous write-ups on how to do this, but they always start AFTER you get all the surrounding dashboard **** off first. Now that I know how to get to that point, I can do mine.
Thanks!
Thanks!
