Default Mugen Headers worth all that money?

Are Mugen headers really worth 900? Thats a good amount of money i could put to a turbo or supercharger. Whats the best cheapest headers you can get? I know DC are garbage, and i hear greddy are good and then some people say their bad.
Peace

Mugen and Smsp are kinda in my opinion on the same level performance wise...Smsp pumps out more Horses but lacks in Torque, where as Mugen pumps more torque than horses compares to the Smsp. But definetly worth the cash, have u heard the exhaust and header combo vid, ALMOST STOCK SOUND TO IT

Smsp Mugen ...The Price...

It hasnt been proven at all that SMSP headers put out any more ponies than a Mugen header or vise versa.

There have been NO direct dyno's between the 2 headers. You need to use the same motor, with all the same components(intake, exhaust etc etc etc), on the same day to get an honest comparison. Geez even the gas used can make a dramatic difference.

I have a DC header also. I like it, I could feel the gains. Alot more mid range HP. Most of the peeps that bash DC, dont even own one, or have never tryed one. Yes mugen is going to give you more HP, I would hope so for 3x the money..

I just took mine off and the difference is huge. I still have an AEM CAI and Mugen exhsut on, and without the header it has much less pull across the entire range and sounds much louder/worse. Excellent build quality, 100% stainless, perfect welds.
Worth Every penny I paid for it.

Umm, thats probably more in your head than for real. I used to have a DC Sports SS header on my 5th gen. It really didnt do anything over stock at all. Same diameter collector, same length and diameter primaries etc., only real differnce is the exterior look. Internally they are almost identical to stock. I noticed a big difference though when I put a high flow cat behind the header. That was the real bottleneck. Then I switched to a Mugen header(larger and longer primaries, much larger collector)with a 2.5" testpipe to match the header collector and the difference was HUGE. If your gonna get a header, Mugen or SMSP(if they become available)and a nice 2.5" high flo cat or test pipe to match up. Otherwise dont waste your time on a DC unit. Im glad I was able to ditch mine for practically the same price I originally paid for it.

True. I think that whoever takes some iniative and copies the Mugen header is gonna make a shitload of $$$$$.

Probably, but considering the quality of the Mugen header, probably the only cost cutting that will be taken into account will be the import duty tax. It is a serious quality piece. Everything fits flawlessly. Attn to detail on this header is incredible.

Anyways, If I was going to spend 900 on a header, It would be a JUN header..

LOL. Do you just state that blindly or do you actually know the actual specs on the JUN header? Remember you did shell out money for a header thats identical to stock and noticed big gains! LOL

Too many people using their butt dynos in here but not getting on a real chassis dyno and seeing what they really gained.

I didnt say I noticed BIG gains, di@K fu@k... But I did say I noticed a diffeance. When I want to the track Two times after I put the DC on, I averaged 2 tenths lower times and 1 mph faster on each run. For the money DC is a better option($280) vs. $900. But If you got money to blow, and you need that extra 5 WHP go for it.Smartas$

Oh you noticed a "difference" LOL. Its all in yoiur head. Especially in the "midrange". And you gained 2 tenths of a second too, so IT MUST BE THE HEADER!! Couldnt have been a better launch, air temperature, atmospheric pressure, fuel, the fact that you didnt eat 4 big macs before you did the 1320 etc right?!?! Simply put the DC header is identical internally to the stock header. Look elsewhere for the fact that you gained 2 tenths on a couple of runs and a whole mph gain. It sure wasnt the header. You would make better gains at the track by taking out your seats.

Oh BTW what are the specs for the H22a JUN header? You ever going to answer that question Einstein? Since you seem to know that you would take em over the Mugen header you must know the primarie, secondary and collector specs of course...........

And away goes Ritteri in another heated argument. But this time I gotta agree with him... DC is crap, and doesn't give much gains at all. It's dyno proven... I think people who get the DC either get it for looks so they can take their heat-shield off (and realize that it doesn't do much), or are going by the butt-dyno that is more in their head than their ***...

Take that mugan header and stick it right up your as$. And If you where to talk like that in my face it would be a whole differant story. The problum with people like you is, you got all the answers. So your always right. Every post you have been in ,you end with some smartas$ know it all remark.
