Found source of oil leak.. now what??
Found out my block was leaking oil bout two weeks ago and posted here.. thanks for all the help btw. I was able to use a small mirror to find out exactly where the leak was comming from. The culprit... just as expected.. the oil pressure sensor... so i took it out.. coated the threads with high temp RTV and bolted it in by hand. Now I dont know if its becuase i didn't use a ratchet to bolt it down or if its becuase that sensor is messed up but it STILL leaks oil from that hole. And the leak is not a very slow leak either.. the flow is pretty fast.. so what do you think it could be? do i have to bolt it down with a ratchet?? i dont see how the hell you could fit a ratchet in that tite *** spot unless i took the intake manifold off.. I guess i'm left with that? also why does the sensor leak? are the threads bad? i checked that already and I didn't see any broken threads. Could it be the threads INSIDE the block thats stripped? I was actually thinking about just taking a short bolt and bolting it down with that since the sensor really isn't needed... any suggestions?
LOL, replace the sending unit.
well that would be the most logical thing to do but i looked at the one i got and nothing is wrong with it.. the only reason it would leak is if the threads are messed up right?

i might add that i would also use teflon tape instead of rtv on the threads, making sure not to cover the hole in the sensor. and maybe tighten with a wrench (tighten to specs)

If the oil sending unit is not properly torqued, it will leak. Teflon tape the threads and torque it. Don't put a bolt in the hole, the threads in the block are tapered and you will have more of a problem than you started with.

Well I wrapped the threads in teflon tape and bolted it down with a rachet.. Drove the hell out of the car for a good 30 mins and not ONE dab of oil seeped from the sensor. Thanks for all the members that helped me out in all this.. I couldn't have done it alone
The oil pressure leaks from its seal, not from the threads, your have to replace it and torque it with a ratchet and a deep socket I think it's 22mm.
