I was pulling off of the highway and my car shut off. I tried to start it up and it acted like it wanted to but it wouldnt. What could have caused this? Thanks.

First thing that comes to mind is your rotor---screw could have possibly fell off---if not, I'm thinking something dist. related---ignition coil? cap? plugs? wires? Hopefully your ecu didnt crap out and you hydrolocked--been there.

Well i went out there and looked at it in the dark...i didnt feel any loose dizzy wires or anything. Then i had my girlfriend get in the car and try to start it...then i hear a nasty sound coming from somewhere. Upon further inspection i find the sound....its coming from the timing belt cover. So im guessing that it skipped a few teeth and just shut off. Im gonna get up early tomorrow and tear it apart to see what i can find. Thanks for all the help...ill probably have a new report for you tomorrow. Im looking at it this way...i have another engine that was supposed to go in within a month...and this will just speed that up.
