Default winding noice

I just switched trannies and it was fine for about 10 miles, then second gear started making a winding noice like it does when you are in reverse. Does anybody know what this is, or how I could fix it? Whenever I drive it now after about 10 minutes I get a check engine light. . I have a 90 DX hatch and I put a 91 Si tranny in it if that helps at all. And does anyone know how big of a gear difference they are. It feels like 1st winds out way quicker. Help me out guys. Thanks

gears are just winding, its normal. Just drive it, it will wear in. Make sure its properly lubed too.

My old Si tranny with a bad mainshaft bearing would make that noise, check to see if you are also getting a noise when you are in neutral with your foot off the clutch.

I second that, when i put an Si tranny on my friends VX it was the same thing, same noise, etc. We changed out the bearing and all was well, good luck
