Loose seatbelts!
OK, the seatbelts attached to the door of my 91 hatch are so damn gay. Every time I take the seatbelt off I have to hand feed it back into the damn door or it shuts in the door and breaks off more of the door. Is there a way to fix this, or tighten the springs?
take it to the honda dealership, they warrenty any seat belt problems, my guess is that your retractor went out and isnt returning the belt back. but like i said the dealership has to fix it for FREE
I ******* hear yah.. i hate that **** esp on the passenger side when foos get out of my ride they shut the door and the seat belt tears the plastic trim and the door moldings and what not...You probley gotta buy a new winder or whatever is inside of the door i dont think you can adjust it..
I hate that too when peeps slam the door shut and the seat belt takes out a huge chunk of the door pannel. Both of mine look ilke some one empited a machine gun clip into em.

the door seatbelts are designed to be left hooked up, you're suposed to be able to get in and out without disconecting them. So, to be able to have the belt stretch out enough to do this, they don't have enough spring left when you retract them in. Honda accually designed them this way. Even if they do replace them for you, they'll start doing the same thing again soon after.
Yep, they have been recalled so they must fix it for free.
i've had my seatbelts REPLACED for free from honda...take it to them and see what they can do...i told em about the same thing. they just told me that that's the way the seatbelts were designed
I talked to the service manager at my local honda dealer today and he said there is nothing wrong with my seatbelt so there's nothing to fix. a new seatbelt will do the same thing. you're not suposed to unhook the belt, therefore, it's not supposed to retract all the way into the door. It's just too long for the springs to be able to pull. Now, if the belt didn't retract at all, or it had a tear that wasn't obvious missuse, they would have no problem at all replacing it.
I'm taking my door panels off tomorow to change my door handles, while I'm in there I'm going to play around with the belts a little and see if there's a way to tighten it up.
