Default To thouse with CTR pistons - compression numbers?

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=388936

Please see thread above and if possible make your comments there - but I'll take them either or. Basically, what type of compression numbers are you seeing with CTR pistons (std bore) in a B18C5 - stock headgasket. If you have a diff setup, please post anything that will affect comp., ie porting combustion chamber, 1 or 2 layer HG, et al.

Thanks in advance.

...no personal knowledge, but in past posts it seems that it was right around 12:1 at a compression check of 300 psi... or maybe I'm thinking of other higher compression builds?

sgt, so w/ jun 3's and stock compression, the numbers would be higher than stock because of the cams?

btw- on my car w/ stock cr and jun 3's, i got 1-4: 230, 225, 235, 230
is that too low?

depends on the cams. could go either way.

your numbers seem fine.

Steve I appreciate your response. Don't know why you seem offended that I'm looking for more responses though... *shrugs*

You said over 300... how much over? 301? 399? I'm hitting 280 +/- 5 across all 4 cyl's... for some reason I thought it should've been higher. Thats why I'm asking.

e: that was with JDM R cams, stock 3 layer HG, b18c5 with ctr pistons. ported comb. chamber. Have not checked yet since putting the B's in. It should go up?

like i said, cams and cam timing will play a large role.
280 sounds right to me though.

Agreed... which is why I'm asking these questions. Trying to learn and understand why and how this will affect compression like it does.

Cool. Was hoping everything went together well. Now, as soon as I can get my tensioner bolt out to re-tighten the timing belt, I'll hopefully hit the dyno for some cam tuning, too.

In a GSR I built with skunk .5mm oversized high compression valves, and ctr pistons with stock cams, my snap on guage, which reads only till 300psi, went past the 300psi mark to somewhere that looked like it would be 325-350psi. thats some hella compression
